Funeral services for Jalmer Johnson were conducted Monday afternoon from the Waggener & Campbell chapel with Rev. George Van Leuven officiating.
During the services two selected hymns were sung by Jerry Caswell with Mrs. Tom Richardson as organist.
Burial was made in the Conrad Memorial Cemetery with Harry Fisher, Edward Conrad, Arthur L. Johnson, William Managhan, Virgil Metcalfe and Andy Christianson acting as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Hazelton, Clark Mason, Mayor McBride, Howard Knapp, Ferd Frohlicher, Ole Jordet, C. E. Lancaster, Art Small, R. H. Reeder and Dr. C. L. Clifford.
Jalmer Johnson was born in Oslo, Norway, March 30, 1884. He came to this country when 4 years old and lived with his parents in North Dakota for a period of time and then moved to Kalispell where he has made his home since.
On Dec. 24, 1924 he was united in marriage to Cora Routz.
For many years Mr. Johnson had been employed by the City of Kalispell as a stationary engineer at the pumping plant.
He died at his home at 140 Fourth Ave. East in Kalispell early Wednesday morning, May 28. He was 66.
Surviving Mr. Johnson are his widow, Cora at their home; five children, Dean Edward of Seattle, Robert S. of Chicago, Donald G. with the Air Force and stationed in Texas, Mrs. Rosemary Darchuck of Stevenson, Wash., and Diane Johnson at home; one brother, Wolfrey of Seattle, and five sisters Mrs. Mable Spurzem and Mrs. Olga Conant both of Oakland, Calif., Mrs. Ida Bonathan of Seattle, Mrs. Hilda Gilbertson of Spokane, and Mrs. Julia Dickey of Kalispell.
