After Sandy's Yorkie, Skipper, died in Feb 2002, she decided to travel for 3 weeks that summer in Europe before buying another dog. Sandy saw a woman at at gas station one day with a cute dog and asked her what breed it was. She said a long-haired Chihuahua. So on that day, Sandy decided she was going to get a Chihuahua with long hair. Sandy asked her counselor friend at Compton to look in the newspaper ads for a long-haired Chihuahua and she found one for sale in Carrollton, Ga. Sandy drove out to Carrollton on Dec 17, 2002 and bought Rocky home to Powder Springs.
All the children in the neighborhood loved Rocky and he loved kids. Everyone in our neighborhood knew Rocky because he was so friendly. One day Sandy decided to buy another dog for Rocky to play with. Rocky was not happy when Sandy brought Rosie home on Aug 1, 2006. He ignored her for a few weeks but eventually warmed up to her and they became good dog friends.
Rocky got very sick and was in much pain in Jan 2017. The vet suggested that I put him to sleep. He is the only dog I have ever put to sleep and I was right there with him during the procedure. It still haunts me today but I know it was the right thing to do for him. RIP Rock!
