Louisa Berglund (Lovisa Isacsdotter), was born May 17, 1831 in Sandsjo, Jomkopenslan, Sweden.

She married Karl Berglund in Sweden about 1852. Louisa and Karl had eight children while in Sweden: Augusta Charlotta, Clara Sophia, Carl (Charley) August, Mathilda Josephina, Emelie (died at 1 year old), Vendla (Mary), Jonas Alfred, and Emilia Christina.

The family immigrated to the United States, arriving on 1 MAY 1869. They first settled in Altoona, Knox County, Illinois, and two years later, Louisa gave birth to their ninth child, Edward Andrew. They then moved to Moingona, in Boone County, Iowa. Louisa's husband was both a farmer and a miner. He worked in the coal mines in Moingona.

In 1877, they moved to a farm on section 33, West of Lanyon, in Lost Grove Township, of Webster County, Iowa.
Karl worked in the coal mines in Moingona, Boone County during the winter. He contracted "miners' lung" and died and was buried there February, 14, 1878.

After her husband Karl died, she continued to live on the farm with her family, for the next 38 years, until her death on October 15, 1915.

Louisa is buried in the Lost Grove Cemetery.
