Death of James F H Blois
A Soldier and Musician Who is Mourned by Hosts of Friends
The many friends of James F H Blois will be deeply pained to learn of his death, which occurred at his residence, No 1807 G street northwest, yesterday afternoon. Mr Blois came to Washington some sixteen years ago to accept an appointment as a clerk in the Post Office Department where his ability and fidelity to duty resulted in his being promoted to the position of principal bookkeeper in the Finance Division of the office of the Third Assistant Postmaster General. In musical circles Mr Blois was well and favorably known. For many years he was connected with St. Matthew's (Catholic) Church, both as organist and chorister, and more recently he has filled the position of organist at Trinity Church Georgetown, where his kindly disposition and artistic ability had won him fast friends among the Jesuit father.
He also was a member of the National Rifles, he was one of the earliest members...
HIs remains will be escorted by the National Rifles to Mount Olivet Cemetery , where the interment will be had with full military honors.

Searching Military records there was a J F H Blois which could possibly be him. His obit mentions military service, but does not elaborate.
