Bio

I take the photos and make pages for those that have past and their families. I hope it helps with your genealogy. I've been working on our genealogy and have found such helpful people on find a grave.

I began by creating memorials for family members and friends, and then branched out into creating memorials from newspaper obits and death notices.

Feel free to use any photos that I have attached. Please use the information with respect and love.

Please do not transfer memorials to me without asking. A correction or addition to your memorial does not constitute a desire to manage it.

From Find A Grave member LKat's profile page I have copied the following statement that I totally agree with. I do make an exception for a member of the military that has died during combat.

ADDING THE RANK TO A MEMORIAL
Use of one's former rank by non-retired military personnel is not a prescribed usage by the Department of Defense (DoD). Use of rank is reserved for career 20-year retirees -- with the intention that their use of the rank is for personal social use -- and is not for use subsequent civilian work-related situations.
In a bio or in a resume the service to our nation would be included as
part of one's experience -- it's just using the rank as part of one's
name the DoD specifically prohibits.

Should a military rank (e.g., PVT, LTC) be included as the prefix to a name? If a person died in service or used the rank after retirement (discharge) as part of his/her name, then it is appropriate; otherwise, it is not. A person's service can be mentioned in the bio text, obituary, etc. (somewhere else), since it is, of course, a part of the person's life.

A veteran who has served honorably in a time of war may bear the title of the highest grade held during that war. This right is conferred by Congress in law by 10 US Code 772 Section .

How do I enter all married names for a woman's memorial when she was married more than once?
Include the last name on the headstone. Other married names can be included in the last name field as all surnames are searchable. The 'maiden name' is only for the maiden name.

When a person is buried with one spouse and other married surnames are not on the headstone, can I add the other married surnames to the last name field?
Our search will search all surnames in the last name field. Yes, you can add all married surnames in the surname field.
