Manley was born on September 3, 1925 in Dunbar, Iowa, the son of Julius and Malena Brimso Stonewall. He attended High School in Gilman, Iowa. Manley served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Manley was united in marriage with Esther Behrens on September 14, 1946 in Conrad, Iowa. He worked at Bordens and Meadow Gold Ice Cream for 39 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion Frank-Lewis-Glick post #46 in Marshalltown and V.F.W. Boline-Manfredi post #9662 in Des Moines. Manley enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with friends and family.


Manley Stonewall is survived by: wife: Esther Stonewall of Des Moines; daughter, two grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, brother: Wayne (Donna) Stonewall of Marshalltown; brother: Dale (Bernice) Stonewall of Cedar Rapids; brother: Terry (Greta) Stonewall of Marshalltown; sister: Vivian Brand of Marshalltown; brother: Jerry (Patty) Stonewall of Seattle, Washington sister: Violet (Gil) Samudio of San Pedro, California

He was preceded in death by: his parents and three brothers; Addison, Roger and Ozzie Stonewall.
