The Gettysburg Times June 8, 1970


A 21-year-old Orrtanna pedestrian was killed instantly and a companion was injured when they were struck by a Waynesboro motorist on Route 16, a mile east of Zora, at 1:10 a.m. today.

State police identified the deceased as Timothy Lee Sites, 21, Orrtanna.

...Sites, a shipping clerk at Gettysburg Shoe Co., was born in Fairfield and resided in Adams County all his life. He was the husband of Rose Fickes Sites and a son of Eugene and Ruth Harbaugh Sites, Fairfield R1. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fairfield, and a social member of the Fairfield Amvets.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a son, Timothy Lee Jr.; 12 brothers and sisters; Robert, Charles and Gary Sites, Fairfield R1; Terry Sites, Waynesboro; Patrick Sites and Mrs. Mary Jo Richardson, Fairfield; Mrs. Joann Ritter, Greenstone; Michael, Steven, James, Rebecca and Bernadette, who reside with their parents, and the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sites, Fairfield R1.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, meeting at 9:30 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Fairfield, to do a requiem Mass at 10:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fairfield. His pastor, Rev. Charles Procopio, will be the celebrant and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The son of Eugene R. and Ruth E. Harbaugh Sites.

His siblings are Robert E., Charles A., Patrick, Gary, Mary Jo Richardson, James, Rebecca Staples, Bernadette Marie McClain, Joan Ritter, Michael, Terry L., and Stephen Sites.
