Mary Jo Mabry, of Spartanburg died on Friday, August 11, 2006 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late George Dean and Martha Kate (Johnson) Mabry.

Miss Mabry was a retired fifth grade teacher from Houston Elementary having taught for over 25 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida and received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Converse College.

Survivors include a sister, Martha Dean Mabry Scruggs of Spartanburg; a brother, George Robert Mabry and his wife, Elsie, of Charleston, SC; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, John Wallace Mabry.

Visitation was 5:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, August 13, 2006, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.

Graveside services were held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 14, 2006, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. James Hodges Chip Scruggs, Jr.

Memorials could be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Boulevard, Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
