Phillip Haddock Mr. Phillip Haddock, 64, died Wednesday, Sept. 03, 2008. The funeral service will be held Friday 2 p.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park. Phillip was a native and lifelong resident of Pitt County, where he attended Chicod School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. For more than 40 years, Phillip worked as a carpenter for himself and other contractors before going to work for Custom Building Co. in Greenville. He retired in 2003 due to health reasons. Phillip was an avid gardener and farmer. He enjoyed being outdoors and working with his hands. A family man by nature, Phillip was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, James Lester Haddock, Jimmy Hyman Briley and Dorothy Mae Briley. In addition he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Carol Haddock, in 1996 and a sister, Sandra H. White in 2006. He is survived by his son, James Mark Haddock, of Simpson; sisters, Renae B. Williams and husband, John, of Greenville, and Debbie B. Lell and husband, Roger, of Durham; brothers, Jimmy Charles Haddock and wife, Sue, and Don Briley and wife, Martha, both of Grimesland; and special pet, "Haley Bae-Bae". The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wilkerson Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
