Nancy Gertzberg, age 61, of Petersburgh, died on September 8, 2014 at the Albany Medical Center from injuries sustained in an airplane accident. Born in Albany, Nancy was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lillian Kessler Gertzberg. She was a graduate of the Guilderland High School and earned her associate's degree from SUNY, Delhi. Nancy had been employed as a senior lab technician at the Albany College of Pharmacy for many years. She has resided in Petersburgh the last several years. Nancy had a passion for flying and earned her sport pilot license. At the time of her passing she was very near receiving her private pilot's license. Nancy was an avid animal lover. She was an experienced equestrian, she entered several competitive horse shows over the years. She loved the country and the outdoors and enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling.

Nancy is survived by a sister, Aileen Couser; a brother, Dr. Marvin Gertzberg; as well as three nephews and one niece. She was predeceased by her loving companion, Bob Brinkman. Services will be held in the chapel at the Independent Benevolent Cemetery on Fuller Road in Guilderland.
