John Dikeman Sr., 78, of 1620 W. French Island Rd., died Saturday morning at a local hospital after a long illness..
He is survived by his wife, Louise; four daughters, Mrs. Don (Ruth) Chesebro, Mrs. Wesley (Louise) Scott, Mrs. Jay (Evelyn) Eno and Mrs. Edward (Frances) Konetchy, all of La Crosse; four sons, John, Clifford and George, all of La Crosse, and Richard of Hokah, MN; a sister, Mrs. Rose Coon of La Crosse; two brothers, Frank of Dubuque, IA, and Roy of Gary, IN; 29 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren..
One son, Frank, was killed in action in Germany on April 25, 1945..
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home, 933 Rose St., and at 9 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, the Rev. Peter Stoll officiating. Burial will be in French Island Cemetery..
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening, where Rosary will be said at 8 p.m.
