Son of William Green Lockett 1846-1922 and Sarah Jane Elizabeth Jordan 1850-1942.

His grandfather was Green Hill Lockett 1801-1870 and his grandmother was Mary "Polly" Ennis 1808-1877.

His great grandfather was Pvt. Thomas Lockett, Sr. 1762-1844 from Buckingham County, Virginia, who served in the American Revolutionary War. Thomas' father was Lt. David Lockett 1735-1795, from Buckingham County, Virginia, also a veteran of the American Revolutionary War.

Lt. David Lockett was given a bounty grant in Wilkes County, Georgia, later becoming Warren County, for his service in the war and the family moved from Virginia to Georgia in 1785.

Four of his uncles served in the Civil War, one of which, Augustus S. Lockett 1831-1862, died for the confederacy.

Will married Sarah Belle "Sallie" Tucker in about 1906 and they had nine children together, five daughters and four sons.
