Sarah Maine was born in Stonington, CT to Jeremiah and Ruth (Brown) Main. She married Hezekiah Cole of Plainfield, CT in 1725. They went on to have nine children. Sarah was a recipient of her fathers will in 1734 where she received a total of about 20 shillings. After her husband Hezekiah died in 1790 she moved to Plainfield, New Hampshire to live with her son Deacon Ebenezer Cole and his family who had moved to NH some years earlier and now had a farm on River Road in Plainfield. She died in 1799 at age 93 and was buried in the Cole Family Plot at River Cemetery on River Road in Plainfield, NH. The gravestone is in remarkably good condition for its age.
