Obituary: Corwin O. Nussbaum, 94, died June 27, 2011 at home. He was born January 8, 1917, in Lacona, Iowa. He lived in that area until he and his wife moved to Des Moines in 1946. He lived in the same home on Cornell Street until he moved nine years ago to live at the homes of his sons. After retiring in 1976 from Ford Motor Company, he enjoyed working on his home, assisting in the garden and lending a helping hand to his friends and neighbors. He was quite the handyman. He loved the Chicago Cubs and he enjoyed reading and traveling. He was preceded in death eleven years ago by his wife of 58 years Anabel; his parents;his brother and three sisters. He is survived by his two sons, Russ (Diane) of Greensboro, NC; Ron of Mecosta, MI; daughter Cathy Hall of Little Rock, AR; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Newbern Cemetery, located south of Lacona, Iowa. – Des Moines Register –
