Carol E. Chan, 70, of Red Oak, Va., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. She was born in Pt. Pleasant, NJ, lived in California and Freehold, NJ most of her life. She was a former farmer, car salesperson, and medical office assistant. Carol was a former member of the Adelphia Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary and Monmouth County Historical Society. Her recent endeavor was as researcher for the Charlotte County Cemetery Project. She also reunited children of adoption with their parents through her extensive geneaology studies. Those who knew Carol will never forget her generous heart and strong will.

She is predeceased by her parents, Mabel and Andrew Errickson and her daughter, Debbie Sue Hanna. Surviving are her husband, Antonio Chan, MD; her daughters, Veronica Formoso and husband John, Kelly Lange and husband Edward; son-in-law, Danny Hanna; her sisters, Mary Gwyer and husband Bill, Alice Margarida and husband Leo; brother, Colonel Andrew Errickson and wife Carol; grandchildren, Kimberly Formoso-Nelson and husband Jonathan, Krystal Formoso-Raba and husband Mike, Shawn Hanna, Krystina and John Formoso Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Lucas and Perry Nelson and Livia Raba.

Memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, Adelphia, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Charlotte County Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 330, Keysville, VA 23947 or the Adelphia Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 312, Adelphia, NJ 07710.
