LITTLE GENESEE - Rebecca R. Torrey, of Coyle Road, passed away Friday (March 13, 2015) at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born July 14, 1952, in Olean, the daughter of Glenn C. and Ruth J. Smith Lowe. On July 21, 1979, in First Baptist Church, Olean, she married Kimberly Brian Torrey, who survives. Becky was a graduate of Olean High School, class of 1970. She was the town clerk for the town of Genesee from 2008 to the present. She was a member of the West Clarksville Baptist Church, the Little Genesee Quilting Club and a board trustee of Little Genesee Library. Becky loved to read and loved caring for her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father, Glenn Lowe of Olean; a son, Joshua M. (SueAnn) Torrey of Olean; two daughters, Brieanne R. (Derrick) Askey of Little Valley and Amber J. (Heath) Stone of Portville; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Roderick (Sandra) Lowe of Laurys Station, Pa., and Zance (Shirley) Lowe of Kennedy; a sister, Jamie (Paul) Geise of Olean; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Ruth, May of 2012. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville.
