THANK YOU SO MUCH to each and everyone of you who created a memorial page & was kind enough to transfer "management" of my family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, all greats & dear friends, sincere appreciation!

Important Helpful hint....see if the natural light can be used to your advantage in trying to read writing on incredibly old headstones. Headstones can be completely illegible during the height of the day but can be read w/ clarity at the right time during sunrise or sunset. Also more helpful tips --- https://www.wikihow.com/photograph-a-tombstone

Please make sure all edits are accompanied w/ actual documentation unless it is obvious & the information is already on the memorial page such as grave marker, obit, etc..

If anyone finds a family member from anyone's photos & you see its been a tad neglected, please consider contacting the church or agency for prepetual care. Don't let our ancestors be lost for our grandchildren & generations to come.

Per Find A Grave: "What if there is no headstone?" You can fulfill the photo request w/ a photograph of the plot location where the grave is located. Indicate in the caption of the photograph that the grave site is an "UNMARKED GRAVE". Suggestion, you can use software called PAINT or something similar to type the persons name where they should be located on the photo & include "UNMARKED GRAVE" as part of the plot location.

Managers will you PLEASE kindly make a Photo Request for ALL the pages that are in need of a grave site photo? Volunteers have no way of knowing wh/ pages are in need w/o your help. This is the main purpose for FIND A GRAVE (FAG) & we need to help each in order to make this happen. Sincere thanks!

Also, PLEASE try & help one another to do your RESEARCH & find out where "burials unknown" are located before linking w/ family because this is FIND A GRAVE & they will not be approved until the grave site has been found.

When researching Mexican/Spanish names the following from familysearch.org is very helpful.... https://www.familysearch.org/blog/en/mexican-last-names/#:~:text=Mexican%20surnames%20might%20also%20appear,the%E2%80%9D)%20from%20the%20name

Note: The Dept. of Defense rules are that a person can only use a military title if they meet one of the following parameters:

1) Passed away in combat while serving their county,
2) Retired after 20 or more years of military service
3) Passed away while active in the military.

If they served at any time, they can have a headstone, and the rank is listed below the name, not as part of their name, unless they meet one of those qualifications. So if making an edit for a military rank to be added, please make sure the above rules are met.

I am very interested in family history, genealogy & preserving cemetery information for future generations. I love to research & link family, friends, loved ones together & hope I can help others in their search as well.

I find joy in continuing to help others by discovering a FAG memorial page w/ no place of birth & or death & w/ no connection of family members then bring everything together.

"Sometimes, a small piece of information; such as a funeral notice in a newspaper, is the only evidence we can find that an individual existed. But this is enough to ensure that our loved ones are never forgotten."

"It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships & losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on & build a life for their family."---Author unknown

A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled: A place is vacant in our home, Which can never be filled, God in His wisdom has recalled, & the boon his love has given, & though the body slumbers here, The soul is safe in heaven. - By Anonymous.

In January 2022, FAG updated its transfer guidelines as follows: "Memorials are transferred for relatives w/ these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would include adoptive, step, & in-law versions of these relationships."

Paternal surnames: Barnett, Belden, Bell, Berney, Bird, Colvin, Davis, Denison, Falconer, Gilmer, Glass, Gorham, Green, Griffith, Howland, Jones, Ledyard, Matthews, McLain, Meriwether, Pain, Phillips, Rhinelander, Rousseau, Saffold, Steven & Waldon.

Maternal surnames: Bailey, Barker, Bell, Berryhill, Briggs, Cloyd, Collier, Evans, Gilliam, Holliday, Ikerd, Keller, Laird, Lucas, Ludlow, Myrick, Newsom, Ramsour, Roberts, Simpson, Stephenson, Smith, Shuford, Tomlinson, Waldon, Wall, Waters, Williams, & Wyche

Should I become part of my own entries because of my sudden demise & therefore won't be able to manage "my" memorials anymore, I would like them to be transferred over to contributor ID #50971171. She alone inherits all of my family research.
