Greetings!

Suggested edits will not be accepted unless there is an attached website link with actual records to validate the suggested edits. If you are taking the time to submit a suggested edit, then send the proof with the suggested edits. You can do this by adding a 'Note' in the 'Notes' section before you push the 'Submit' button.

I do not accept suggested edits for a bio that are in 'index card's format. The deceased deserves an actual well written bio that are in paragraphs rather than the opposed.

***Any unkind messages will immediately be forwarded to Find a Grave admins.

I have inherited a huge volume of family memorials from family who were contributors on Find a Grave but became too busy or retired from maintaining them. I do edit them each day and work on their bios. It is a work in progress that I enjoy and love so much! I am related to 97% of the memorials I manage.

*When sending me edit suggestions based on Family Search, please submit the web address that has the birth/death/parentage/spouse records revealed.

If you cannot locate a birth or death record for verification of location, dates, parentage, newspapers.com often have this information along with burial. Just send me the link so I can verify.

***It is against Find a Grave rules to add newspaper obituary clippings or other newspaper articles that were published after 1948 as they are not in the public domain. You can transcribe them as a bio with also including the name of the newspaper, date of publication, but you cannot add the names of survivors. Newspaper copyrights expire 75 years after publication.

*Please do not add photos to memorials that you have found on Wikipedia. A good portion of the photos are not of the person they have been attached to.

Veteran's deserve to have their rank capitalized, no matter where they are in the world. They fearlessly EARNED that rank to be capitalized.

Regarding how I process edits:

*When adding an obituary to a memorial, please do not add the names of any surviving family members. This is to protect their privacy.

Many people cannot afford to be on genealogical pay sites to discover information about their loved ones or friends, so it is a very nice thing to do to include accurate information and a well written bio. This isn't about the amount of memorials created of people who have passed away, but to honor them so that people can pay their respects. If you are a memorial creator, more often than not you will find links to Ancestry sources for individuals at the bottom of their memorial, and if you have an account with Ancestry, you will have access to include that information on the deceased's biography. Family Search is a free site, and if you research the 'sources' link for a particular person, most often than not you will find original birth and death records, marriage records, records of parents and siblings, etc. Please take the time to do this for the deceased... without them, you would not have a memorial to create.

There are a lot of great Contributors on here, but also many who have seemed to have lost track of what it is to be kind to others. Find a Grave is not a competition, it is not a place to take inner frustrations out on others, it is not a job site where people who have been on here longer than others or have created endless memorials think of themselves as having 'seniority'. These are memorials for people who have passed away, not game tokens or playing cards or collectors items. Please be respectful. Think of Find a Grave as a large mausoleum where memorials are housed as a remembrance for the people who loved them, knew them, are descended from them.

Always be Respectful, Kind and Courteous.
