It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our Mother, Nonna, Sister and Friend Emma on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in her 79th year.
Emma was born in Ortona Chieti, Italy in 1933. She immigrated to Calgary in March 1962 where she met the love of her life Gino and were happily married for forty-four years. Emma's gift and passion for cooking fulfilled her career and was the centrepiece for many family celebrations; you couldn't wait for the next one. Her doors were opened to all.
Our mother will be remembered most for her unconditional love, patience, wisdom, infectious smile, the joy for singing and her continuous faith. Emma will be dearly missed by her children, Domenico (Gina), Diana (Jamie) Corbett, Anna Maria, Filomena (Kevin) Fox, as well as her darling grandchildren, Jennifer, Renee, Marissa, Samantha, Sabrina, Kristen, Brandon and Vanessa.
Emma is survived by her sisters, Anna, Irma (Arnaldo), Maria, Angela (Paolo), Emila and her sister-in-law Marelena and numerous relatives in Italy and Canada. We would like to acknowledge our mothers many friends for their support and friendship throughout the years. You enriched her life, as she did for so many others.
Emma was predeceased by her husband Gino, parents Nicola and Teresa Di Deo and brother Gabriele.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum.
