Leona Marene Allen Holm, 81, of Nampa, died October 8, 2012, in Boise.
Marene was born March 25, 1931 in Salem, Idaho, to David Archibald Allen and Freda Bertha Rindlisbacher Allen. Her sister Ruth was one year older and they were inseparable. Their father died in 1934.
Marene graduated from Shelley High School in 1949 and married Garth Eugene Holm. Their children, raised on the family farm, are: David Garth, born August 17, 1950; Norman Larry, born August 26, 1951, and Deborah Ann, born October 8, 1956.
After a divorce in 1975, she moved to Salt Lake City. Skilled at reviewing microfilm, she worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and for J.C. Penney Accounting Center. Marene married Jay Kilpatrick in 1977; they divorced in 1986.
Due to health problems, she moved to Nampa in 2003, living at Maryland Village Apartments. Marene was friendly, independent, hard working, immaculate in grooming and housekeeping, and humbly firm in religious beliefs. She was proud of her children and grandchildren. Marene was sad when Ruth died at age 81 years and six months, and followed her in death at the same age.
Preceding her in death were her parents and stepfather, Lenn Roberts; her sister, Ruth (Lorenzo) Merchant; three half-brothers, Blair, Darrell and Farrell Roberts, and a stepbrother, Merlin Roberts.
She is survived by her children, David (Vonda), of Monte Vista, CO; Norman (Debra) Holm, of Nampa and Deborah (David) Trubey, of Sanford, FL; nine grandchildren: Cameron (Katrina) Holm, Ansley (Eric) Schweighofer, Lara (Marco) Roetto, Janson (Lynn) Holm, Emily Marene (James) Murdock, Spencer (Rachel) Holm, Alissa Holm Joshua Trubey and Rebecca (Andrew) Liljenquist; 14 great-grandchildren; her half-sister, Winona (Ralph) Munger, of Marsing, two half-brothers, Mark (Linda) Roberts, of Kimberly and Wayne Roberts, of Salt Lake City; and a stepbrother, Bryant (Diana) Roberts, of Grangeville.
