Angie was born May 25, 1941 in Cefalu, Sicily to Joseph and Rosa (Urnise) Messina. At the age of 16 she moved with her family to Kansas City, MO. She was a 1960 graduate of Northeast High School and attended Maple Woods College. She was an accountant at Commerce Bank and later at TWA for 26 years. She loved to travel all over the world with her family. Her favorite place was Hawaii with its beautiful flowers, beaches and mountains. She enjoyed baking, needlework, crocheting and working in her flower gardens. Angie was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church where she was active with the Altar and Rosary Society, mission sewing, and the St. Joseph Table. Her family was most important to her. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was kind and generous and made friends wherever she went.
Angie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Elliott; daughter, Debbie Ann Potter; her parents; and sister, Concetta Cancilla.
She is survived by her son, Tony Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Carpenter; stepdaughter, Lori James; son-in-law, John Potter; grandchildren, Sandy and Michael Sola, Chris Carpenter, Jackie Potter; step-granddaughter, Sarah James; brothers and sister-in-law, Patrick and Sybeth Messina, Ross Messina; sister, Maria Messina; brother-in-law, Dominick Cancilla; and many nieces and nephews.
