Mildred was my husband's great-aunt and I gotto meet her for the first time in August 2004. I am so lucky to have met her when I did. She was a wonderful lady, a real spitfire. I had suprised her with some old family pictures she had not seen in years as she had had a devastating house fire in which she had lost everything.
She was born in Marion, Ohio on Decemebr 3, 1923 in Marion, OH to Milton & Martha (Tricky) Hopkins. She married Gordon Hoyt on February 10, 1945 and were married for 49 years. He died on January 12, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Louis (Michigan) American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She resided most of her life in St. Louis, Michigan.
She is survived by her 5 children, Larry & Deb Hoyt, Irene & Marvin Rooks, Jack & Opal Hoyt, Sue & Lynn Moulton, and Bev & Larry Linton, 10 grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren (all from Michigan), 2 brothers - Henry & Wanita Hopkins of Michigan and Willis and Margaret Hopkins of Georgia. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters and 5 brothers,
