Mrs. Ruby Badger Carter age 95 of Lansing the Bear Wallow Road died Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Segraves Nursing Care Center. Mrs. Carter was born April 9, 1913 in Ashe County to the late William and Cora Thompson Badger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mathus Carter. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jim Francis. Burial will follow in the Perry Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday, May 6th at Badger Funeral Home. Mrs. Carter is survived by: 2 sons: Carl Carter of Lansing and James Norris Carter of Fleetwood 1 daughter: Sylvia Barker of Lansing 2 sisters: Mae Powers and Kathleen Hughes of PA 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to: Perry Cemetery c/o Mark Hart 4368 Big Horse Creek Road, Lansing, NC 28643.
