Patricia "Gram" went to be with the Lord Sunday evening, December 18, 2011 to add her special wit and humor to Heaven. She passed away at home with her loving family and friends surrounding her. Pat was born October 13, 1932 to Mary Lou and Paul Grogan of Conroe. Pat lived most of her life in Conroe where she was a loving mother, wife and friend to all who knew her. Her zany humor and love for life is a gift that she left for all of the many lives that she touched in her long life here on earth. She is survived by her three beautiful children, Vance Letbetter of Houston, Paul Dean Letbetter and wife Pam of Flower Mound and Tricia Letbetter Matthews and husband Robby of Willis. Gram had a special place in her heart for the grandchildren she leaves behind, Kayce Bucks and husband Bill, Ashley Green and husband Trey, Nicole Letbetter and Brittany Letbetter, and Grogan and Joshua Matthews. She also had a special love for her great grandchildren, Jace Arthur and Chloe Green.

Pat graduated from Conroe High School where she was the Drum Major and Valedictorian and received many other honors. She then attended The University of Texas where she graduated with a degree in Education. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority while at UT. Pat spent a majority of her life in education and left many wonderful impressions on the students she taught. Pat returned to her Alma Mater and taught English at Conroe High School for many years as well as teaching stints at Wilkerson Intermediate in Conroe, Baker Jr. High in LaPorte and Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur. Her creative teaching and love for her students are still remembered today.

We were all blessed to be able to have Gram live with us for the final years of her life. The love and affection from the many friends that came to visit Gram added joy to all of our lives. From bedside chats to wheelchair and scooter races, our lives were blessed.
We are so thankful for the special people that God put in our lives to help care for Gram. Vanessa Collier, who was like a granddaughter to Gram and showed her sweet loving kindness to Gram always. Also, a special thanks to Joann Perez and Charlene Wilson as well as Pro's Home Health, Anna Ortiz and Odyssey Hospice. Pat will also be missed by special friends, Debbie, Brenna, Bo and Brayton Blalock and longtime friend and running buddy, Ethel Sue Fair. Pallbearers will be Claude Fair, Steve Brannon, Greg Clark, Robby Matthews, Scott Mann, Chip McFarland and Jimmy Perkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in her name to the Relay For Life of Conroe at http://main.ascevents.org/goto/tmatthews.
