John "Clayton" Brunger, age 84 of Flint, formerly of the Lennon and Corunna areas, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Grand Blanc. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be private family services at a later date.
Mr. Brunger was born on December 30, 1927 in Clayton Township, the son of Glynn and Floy V. (Burleson) Brunger. Mr. Brunger was a farmer all of his life. In addition to farming, he had worked for Flint Home Furnishings for many years and in the winter time for Durand Milling, delivering coal. He had also worked in maintenance for Genesee County for 20 years, retiring in the mid-90's and was a Security Guard for Pinkerton-Securita.
He married Carol Hatcher in Flint, Michigan on February 24, 2000.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; 9 children from his first marriage: John Clayton (Susan) Brunger, Jr. of Bedford, TX, Daniel (Deborah) Brunger of Melbourne Beach, FL, Kathy (Bert) Matsomoto of Las Vegas, Karen (Robert) Gras of Fairbanks, Alaska, David (Cindy) Brunger of Bancroft, James (Ida) Brunger of Bell, FL, Karol Brunger of Port Charlotte, FL, Kelli Brunger of Port Charlotte, FL, Jeffery (Kim) Brunger of Nashville, TN; 18 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Douglas in 1964.
