Helen Follenius Zook (07 Jul 1859 - 01 Dec 1942) was born in Missouri to Wilhelm Christoph Ludwig P. (1829 - 1902) and Emilie (Muench) Follenius (1839 - 1900). She married Stephen Douglas Zook in 1884. They had five childen, the oldest, George Frederick Zook, (1885 - 1951) became the very first United States Commissioner of Education, Nettie, (1888 - ), Catherine "Katie" Frances, (1892 - 1962), Ethel M. (1893 - 1964) and Albert Douglas, (1900 - 1919).
