Funeral services for T. Houston Climer and Pauline Baggett Climer were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, at the Chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home.
Elder G. Jason Davis and elder L. F. Andrews officiated. Entombment was at Oaknoll Mausoleum.
Mr. and Mrs. Climer, 6 Bells Ferry Road N.E., Rome, died Friday morning from injuries sustained in an automobile wreck on the Rome Road.
Mr. Climer was born in Polk County, Aug. 19, 1907, the son of the late Thomas Andrew Climer and Ruby Kimmie Fricks Climer. He was a long-time resident of Floyd County and of the Baptist faith. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a loom fixer by WestPoint Pepperell Manufacturing Co. He was married to Pauline Baggett, June 3, 1934.
Mrs. Climer was born in Paulding County, Feb. 4, 1907, the daughter of the late Homer C. Baggett and Katie Luella Wix Baggett. She had been a resident of Floyd County since 1934 and was a member of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Paulding County. Prior to retirement, she was employed as a teacher by the Floyd County Schools. She taught school for 43 years, much of that time in Floyd County, and was a member of the Floyd County Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors of Mr. Climer include five sisters, Mrs. Alice Sweatt, Irvington, Ala., Mrs. Pauline C. Hutchens, Rome, Mrs. Ruth Battle, Stone Mountain, Mrs. Elizabeth Climer, Atlanta, and Mrs. Ruby Rako, Stockbridge; a brother S. Denson Climer, Rome; several nieces and nephews.
Survivors for Mrs. Climer include three sisters, Mrs. Eula Baggett Climer, Rome, Mrs. Audrey Baggett Rose, Temple, and Mrs. Jeanette Baggett Emrich, Lake Wales, Fla.; a stepbrother, the Rev. Jordan W. Holland, Savannah; several nieces and nephews.
