Louis Gehas, 85, of Coatesville died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late John and Irene Stavrakellis Gehas.

Louis was a member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Lancaster and St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, Coatesville.

He was a 1944 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.

Louis was an auto mechanic at the former Ray Sheeler Dealership, Downingtown and in 1985 retired from Lukens Steel Company where he worked in the chemical lab.

He served in the SW Pacific during WWII with the 63rd Infantry 6th Division.

Louis is survived by his brother, James Gehas and his wife Magda of Coatesville; four nieces: Joanne Gehas, Betsy Boyer, Irene Henry, Katina Reilly; and one nephew, John Kopteros.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Lula Gehas Kopteros.

Louis' funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 399 Charles Street, Coatesville, where family and friends may call beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coates-ville.

Memorials in Louis' honor may be made to St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, 11 Oak Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
