He was an active deacon for 52 years, member of Bellview Baptist Church for 32 years and member of Gideon's International.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and retired fromn U.S. Steel Corporation and Castleberry Construction Company.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Evelyn (Tootsie); two sons, CLarence Edward (Julie) of Evans, Georgia and Fred Henry (Sheila) of McCalla; five grandsons; Bruce, Bret, Mark, Adam and Alan; two grandaughters, Jolie and Laurie; two great grandaughters Kayley and Hanno; two sisters, Dorothy McDaniel and Bernice Allen; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends at Bellview Baptist Church in McCalla from 5 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2003.
Funeral Services will be held, Thursday, September 4, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Bellview Baptist Church, with burial in Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield, Alabama. Rev. Daryl Hamaker officiating. Bessemer Brown directing.
