Walker Martin, 95, of Fultondale, AL, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011. Mr. Martin was born in Cullman, Alabama on April 3, 1916. He moved to Florida in 1946, where he farmed and built homes. He was a member of Fultondale Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Martin; brother, James; sisters Eva, Dura, and Zora; and two sons, Roger and Gary. He leaves behind his faithful and devoted wife of 71 years, Essielene Osborne Martin; two sons, Wayne Martin (Kay) of Gainesville, FL; Jon Martin (Pixie) of Hoover, AL; one daughter, Carole Ebersole (Dave) of Everette, WA; grandchildren, Ryan and Eric Martin of FL; Megan Martin of SC, Heather Adams of Helena, AL; Nicholas Martin of Washington, D.C., Michael Ebersole (Kailey) of WA; brother, Joseph Martin (Johnnie)of Ft. Myers, FL; sister, Margaret Quinn of Murphy, NC; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of loving friends. Visitation will be held Monday, May 23, 2011 from 12 PM until 2 PM at Gardendale Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM, with Steve Wilshire officiating. A committal service will be held after the funeral at Welti Cumberlnd Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Cullman.
