He was the announcer on local Los Angeles television for Hot Rod Derby midget car racing and the Thunderbirds team Roller Derby on KTLA Channel 5 and for Championship Wrestling on KCOP Channel 13 between the 1950s and 1970s. Especially renowned for the expression "Whooooaaaah Nellie!"
