Edward Finger was born in Chicago in 1916. His parents were William G. Finger and Marie Mae Vrba. He had one sister Lillian (1917-1998). The family resided on Throop Street in Chicago for many years. Since a very young age, Edward always had a love of dogs and could be seen pictured with them in the neighborhood. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Military Police. He was inducted in the Army on August 10, 1942 in Squadron B, 556th AAF Base Unit and was honorably discharged on November 26, 1945.
Edward married Ann Paljug in 1944 and they had one son, Edward. Both Edward and Ann were long-time employees of Rose Packing Company. He passed away on October 20, 1957 and was buried in Clarendon Hills Cemetery.
