Actress. Born Leucadia Konstanti in Poland, she was considered one of Europe's foremost leading actresses of the silent motion picture era. She moved to Italy in 1914 where she began to write, direct and produce films. Between 1916 and 1929 she starred in many successful pictures, among them "Redenzione" (1919), "Playing with Fire" (1921), "Marie Antoinette, the Love of a King" (1922) and "The White Roses of Ravensberg" (1929). With the advent of the 'talkies', she made ​​one final appearance in "Manon Lescaut" (1939), then retired. During World War II, she was severely wounded during an allied bombing and died a few months later from her injuries at a hospital in Germany.
