The deceased was born in Germany, March 16, 1842, and remained in his native home until 1868 when he was married and the same year came to this country and located on an eighty acre farm in the town of Woodville near the village of Hilbert. He followed this occupation until a few years ago when he retired from active work and moved into the village. He was an unassuming man, honest and charitable.
He was a member of the Catholic Church and was buried Saturday morning from St. Mary’s church. The funeral was largely attended by relatives and friends.
He leaves a widow, seven sons and three daughters to mourn the death of a loving husband and kind and indulgent father.
