The funeral for Mrs. LeRoy (Sharon) Ackerman was held in St. Agnes Catholic Church Saturday, May 3rd at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Adkins officiating. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday evening in the church. Pallbearers were her brothers, Harold, Clifford, Palmer, Marvin, Boyd and Kenneth Brekhus. Interment was in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery with Sorensen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ackerman, 34 years of age, died suddenly on Wednesday in the Kenmare Deaconess Hospital where she had been admitted on Monday.

Born Sharon Brekhus on Feb. 8, 1941 at Norma, she was raised there and attended rural grade school and High School at Riverside, Calif. She married LeRoy Ackerman on April 2, 1960 and they have made their home in Kenmare. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, St. Teresa Circle and the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, seven children, Melody 14, Perry 13, Boyd 12, Marty 10, Donny 9, Rocky 7, and Sheila 4, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Edith Brekhus of Kenmare; four sisters, Mrs. Eugene Jensen and Mrs. Ronald Egeberg, both of Kenmare; Mrs. Gary Egeberg of Donnybrook, and
Mrs. John Medlock of Minneapolis; six brothers, Harold Brekhus of Keene, Clifford and Kenneth Brekhus of Norma, Palmer Brekhus of Tolley, Marvin Brekhus of Webster, S.D., and Boyd Brekhus of Kenmare.

Also surviving are her grandmothers, Mrs. Petra Strangeland, Concord, Calif., and Mrs. Anna Brekhus, Minot Lutheran Home.

Mrs. Ackerman was preceded in death by her father, two sisters and two brothers.
