David John Cheatham — Phoenix
April 28, 1954 - Oct. 15, 2006

David J. Cheatham, 52, died Oct. 15, 2006, in Phoenix.

A memorial service will he held for him at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings, at 3 p.m., Saturday. His remains will be buried in Aurora.

He was born on April 28, 1954, in Brookings, to James W. and Alta E. Cheatham. He attended elementary school in Aurora and junior high and high school in Brookings. He lived and worked in the Brookings area until 1983, when he moved to Arizona.

He worked as an electrician there until his health forced his early retirement. He remained in Phoenix until his death.

He enjoyed sports (especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Brookings Little League team), playing jokes on friends, telling stories, visiting casinos, and talking with friends.

He loved the Beatles music, "Mayberry RFD," "Coach," and many old TV shows and movies. He spent much time and had so much fun at the Lantern and Ray's Corner in Brookings and at "Jupe's" in Chandler, Ariz. and at Erma's in Young, Ariz., where he enjoyed himself so very much.

The last few years of his life were spent reminiscing of the many good times he had and the many good friends he made along the way.

His body was racked with pain and that terrible disease and he finally had suffered enough.

He is survived by a special friend Erma Walker; his brother, Bob (Kathy).
