Alethia Schwarzkopf, age 92, of Sibley, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, November 27, 2010, at 1:30 P.M. at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley. Father Thomas Topf officiating.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26, from 2:00 to 8:30 P.M. with the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Catholic Daughters of America at 5:00 P.M. Scriptural Wake Service at 7:30 P.M. at the Andringa Funeral Home in Sibley.
Alethia Schwarzkopf was born on September 24, 1918, in Matlock, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lewis and Kate (Gasmound) Eichman. She lived her youth in Matlock, Iowa, until moving to Ashton, Iowa, in 1924. She attended the Ashton Public School.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Schwarzkopf of Ashton, Iowa, on October 23, 1937, in Inwood, Iowa. They lived in Inwood for a short time before moving to Sibley where Alethia was a homemaker and Arthur worked for AMPI for 40 years. Arthur passed away on September 24, 1983.
She was a member of St Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley.
Alethia enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with Arthur. She also enjoyed baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010, at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children: Daryl and Shirley Schwarzkopf of Sibley, IA, Gary and Patricia Schwarzkopf of Cortez, CO, Rose Marie Draper of Amarillo, TX, Robert Joseph Schwarzkopf of Plano, TX; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur; her parents; seven sisters and three brothers.
