He was born November 14, 1914 in Sioux County, son of Lewis and Catherine Eichmann. In May 1946 he married Martha Ruchotzke in Sibley. He was employed by the Osceola County Creamery for 17 years and was a member of the American Legion and Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley.
Survivors include one son, Douglas of Sioux Falls, SD and his daughter Linda (Mrs Greg Burris) of Hastings, MN; three grandchildren; two brothers, Alfred of Stillwater, MN, Emory of Worthington; four sisters, Mrs Sylvia Feuerstein, Watertown, SD; Mrs Emma Sechler of Worthington, MN; Mrs Lucille Kleve, of Sioux City and Alethia Schwarzkopf of Sibley, IA
