Thelma Smalls

Thelma J. Smalls, 79, of 213 Meeting Street, Georgetown, SC departed this life on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church in Georgetown, SC with Rev. Dr. Novell Goff, officiating.

Burial follows in the Church Cemetery under the direction of McKnight-Fraser Funeral Home.

A wake service will be held Friday, November 6, 2009 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Walter S. Fraser Memorial Chapel in Georgetown, SC.

Mrs. Smalls, a daughter of the late Robert Johnson and Louise White Johnson was born December 27, 1929 in Jacksonville, FL.

She was a member of Bethel AME Church where she served on the Matron Usher Board and the Senior Missionary Society.

Survivors are her sons and daughters, Sarah Britton, Chicago, IL, Diarendia Smalls, John Smalls, Georgetown, SC and Debra Smalls, Bronx, NY, Ronald Smalls, Williamsburg, VA and Vernon Smalls, Austin, TX; three sisters, Louise Lawrence, Bronx, NY, Margaret Poinsette, Chicago, IL and Cleo Greene, Georgetown, SC; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
