He was born Feb. 4, 1943, in Queens, N.Y., to Robert and Janetta (Downey) Orchard. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married Dec. 1, 1984; a daughter, a son, a foster daughter; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Vallier in 2005; his sister, Joelene Lynch; and his parents.
The funeral is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Brown officiating. Burial is at McPherson Cemetery, with a military graveside service provided by Clyde VFW and American Legion.
