born: Streator, Illinois moved to Nanaimo, BC with her parents as a young child. Her father, John was a miner. Ellen had five siblings: Annie, Sarah "Sadie", Jacob, Mary Jane (Mae), & Isabelle. Annie married Robertson, Sadie married George Gold & and had at least one son "Tom." Jacob never married and died at the TB Hospital in Kamloops in 1922. Mae & Isabelle married however neither had any children and residing most of their adult life in California. Both Mae & Isabelle are interned in Palm Springs, California.

Ellen met her husband Richard Ivey on Vancouver Island - who was also a miner. She delivered mail with horse & buggy. "Ivy Green" is names after her and Richard Ivey as the land they owned and the surrounding area was referred to as "Ivey's Green" Ellen's parents: John H Little & Sarah (Hawthorne) Little are also buried in the Ladysmith Cemetery.

Ellen & Richard had 4 children: Sara who married Fred Yearley; Grace married Noble Fee; Myrtle married Robie Duncan, and son Richard never married at died of TB.While he was institutionalized at Essondale. All of the "girls" were either divorced or separated from their spouses at the time of death.

Some last names of descendants (several generations) include but not limited to:
Yearley, Tukham, Reid, Carter, Milton, Griffiths, Wu, Nguyen, Wight, Ricard, Vernon, Burton, & Rutti & Alexander
