James Brown, 76, a former member of the state legislature from Edmond, died at 1212 West Thirty-Third Street in Oklahoma City where he had made his home since 1919. Services were held in Edmond. Mr. Brown came to America in 1867 and settled in Edmond in 1889 where he was in the lumber business. He was a pioneer in Edmond, establishing the first lumber yard and general store at that place. He retired in 1918 and moved to Oklahoma City. Survived by his wife; six children which included Mrs. C.A. Shell of Brady, Texas.
