Antonio was born in Foggia,Italy,before coming
to America with his parents and making their
home in Canton,MA.
He enlisted in the Marines 12 February 1968 at
the Boston Recruiting Office.Antonio was 17
years,7 months and 23 days old when he en-
listed.
Antonio arrived in Vietnam 26 August 1968
and was assigned to Golf Battery,3rd Battalion,
11th Marine Regiment,1st Marine Division.
He was operating a bull dozer at a work site in
the 1st ARVN Ranger Battalion Compound,
when the bull dozer struck and detonated a
mine,at 1550H 29 April.
Antonio died @0715H the following day,at the Naval Station Hospital in Danang,as a result of fragmentation wounds to the head.
Antonio was single and served his country for
1 year,2 months and 18 days.KIA#40,913.
He had been in Vietnam for 8 months and 2
days.
Antonio was 18 years,10 months and 10 days
old.
