Mrs. Bessie Conner Anderson, 90, passed away on March 02, 2012 at Wesley Pines Retirement Center in Lumberton, NC.

She was born in White Oak, NC.

Bessie was a member of Tar Heel Baptist Church. As a servant of Jesus Christ and others, this loved one is now at rest with whom she always believed and served. Her life was an example to everyone as a faithful Christian, caretaker and a woman of conviction. She was loved by many through all aspects of her life as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. The love she has shown was always deeply felt by all. As her family celebrates her heavenly homecoming, she will be missed dearly by them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Conner and Janie Conner; her husband, William Jesse Anderson, Sr; and two sisters, Inez Stephens and Mae Todd.

Bessie is survived by five children: Janie Powers and husband Don, Rosa Stone and husband Robert, Fran Mancos and husband Steve, Gayle Dowless and husband Steve, and Jesse Anderson, Jr. and wife Johnna; one brother, Berry Conner and wife Bonnie of Dublin; twelve loving grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will be held at Tar Heel Baptist Church. The burial services will follow the services in the church cemetery.
