Obituary / Additional Information: Darbyville: George AMBROSE died at his mother's home on Monday, the 11th at 7o'clock in the evening, after a few days illness. George was the fourth son of Matilda AMBROSE of this village; he was a very large and a very bright youth for but sixteen years of age.

He leaves a widowed mother, three brothers and three sisters to mourn his early death, which was so sudden and unexpected to us all. Until the very night that he died, it was confidently expected that he would recover. He was taken with a chill at Sunday School on the third and he was never able to be up again. His funeral took place from the church Wednesday morning at 10:am and was largely attended, both schools and teachers attending in a body. Six of his schoolmates, boys near his own age were the pall bearers, and all could but grieve that one so young and so full of life and activity must be hurried from our sight forever, but with his Christian mother let us strive to say, "Thy will, O God, be done.
