Born in Yuma Arizona, July 3, 1919. Died at Naval Battle of Guadalcanal November 13, 1942. Son of Maria Concepcion "Chona" (Rivera) Jordan & Ross A. Jordan. Attended Yuma High School; Joint Union High School, Davis, California, Sacramento City College, University of California, Davis.
Enlisted in the U.S. Navy, November 1940, reported to the U.S. Monssen (DD-436), February, 1941, North Atlantic Fleet neutrality patrol March 1941 - February, 1942. Doolittle Raid, April, 1942, Battle of Coral Sea, April 1942, Battle of Midway, May 1942, Amphibious assault of Guadalcanal, August, 1942, Battle of the Eastern Solomons, August, 1942, Naval Battle of Guadalcanal, November, 1942. Interred in the Iron Bottom Sound with U.S.S. Monssen (DD-436) shipmates. Fondly remembered by family & friends.
