Note: Travers/Travis was the son of William and Mary Taylor of Lexington, Davidson Co., NC. Sadly, at least three of the brothers died in the Civil War.

Taylor, Travis Private, Company A, 42nd Regiment NC Troops Travis was born 1829 to William A. & Mary Taylor. Travis worked as a farmer, and, on August 30, 1852, he married Catharine Koontz. Travis volunteered for service on March 6, 1862. He died of pneumonia at Petersburg, Virginia, on December 14, 1862. He is buried in the mass North Carolina grave in the Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg.
