Aged 36 years 8 months and 3 days.
Thus in the bloom of life, died one of Carolina's noblest Sons.
He leaves a Father, Mother and three Brothers to mourn his untimely death.
A dutiful Son, a kind brother, and affectionate friend.
Our loss is his eternal gain. A few hours before his death he sang:
Show pivy Lord, O Lord, forgive, let a prepenting sinner live.
Are not thy mercies large and free,
May not, a sinner trust in thee.
"Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them"
