Helen Barnhart, 100, of Worthington died Thursday at ACMH Hospital in Kittanning.

Born Aug. 24, 1906, in Butler, she was the daughter of John and Ella Mohney Caldwell.

A homemaker, Mrs. Barnhart was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Worthington, where she belonged to the Gleaners Sunday school class.

She was a former member of the Armstrong County Election Board and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary in Worthington.

Mrs. Barnhart is survived by a daughter, Margaret "Peg" Morris of Kittanning; two sons, James Arthur Barnhart of Riverview, Fla., and David R. Barnhart of Canal Winchester, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Barnhart; a daughter, Mary Ellen Rearick; a great-grandson; four sisters, and two brothers.

BARNHART - Friends of Helen Barnhart, who died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Snyder Funeral Home, 424 Bear St., Worthington, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Lutheran Church, Main Street, Worthington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. David Meneely will officiate. Burial will be in the Worthington Lutheran Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association.
