As a member of a Military Police Detachment, he was stationed first at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal, a chemical weapons manufacturing center in Commerce City, Colorado. Later with the rank of sergeant, at Camp Detrick in Frederick, Maryland - the Center for the United States Biological Weapons Program.
